Joseph Edward Gilkey with his little brother Stanley. "Ed" is on the right. There is no date on this photo but I am guessing that he could be around four here.
Ed was born in a very small town called "Colesburg" near Louisville Ky on August 25, 1914. His parents were Claudia House Gilkey and Charles Moses Gilkey. He had an older sister Lucille and his little brother was named Stanley. This is the earliest photo that I have discovered of your grandaddy. It was most likely taken in 1918.
Ed was age 11 here. This was his school photo taken in 1925. He went to a one room school house in Colesburg Ky.
